About Ukraine:
Ukraine is part of the European Union. It is located in southeastern Europe with an area of 603,700 km2. The country is characterized by its mostly temperate climate and mountainous terrain with steppe lands in the north and southeast. The total population is 47.7 million, and its capital, Kiev, is the most populous of its cities. Ukrainian culture is dominated by ancient traditions rich in heritage, arts and architecture, characterized by a multinational mix and cultures in most parts of the country, and Ukrainian is used among them as the official language. The official currency is the hryvnia, and the country has an open economy, with a gross domestic product of about 142 billion dollars, and three main sectors play an important role in the country’s GDP, which are services, industry and tourism. Ukraine is characterized by a variety of destinations and attractions, cultural and natural, as it has 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites scattered all over the country which is visited by more than 14 million tourists every year.
